Support Worker (Mental Health)

36 hours per week - Permanent post

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the community mental health teams within Sefton, as an outreach/support worker, providing a service to people in their own homes, this will entail working across both North and South Sefton on occasion. We are looking for highly motivated individuals who have a keen interest on Mental Health.

Our team work with individuals with Severe and enduring mental ill health, often impacted by dual diagnosis that can affect their confidence, and the ability to carry out activities of daily living. With people for a short period of time to promote their confidence, have choice and control, and maximise their wellbeing and independence in the local community.

You will be part of a team and will have access to direction, support and supervision from a qualified Social Worker, and other team members.

Ideally you will have some experience of working within a care environment/mental health, and have an NVQ in social care ongoing training will be provided. This will give you the opportunity to enhance your current skill set and learn new ones.

Effective communication skills are key, as this role is largely face to face work with vulnerable adults as well las communicating with allied health workers and other professionals.

This post is 36 hours per week, working Monday to Friday. 27 days Annual leave plus bank holidays, and membership into the local Government pension scheme.
