About Us

In Sefton, we have high expectations that our Community Learning Service will go from strength to strength over the coming years and we are now looking for an inspirational, experienced leader to help us get there. Our approach to inclusive growth, a key pillar of our Vision 2030, puts learning at the heart of our plans for building resilience across our communities and making Sefton a great place to work, live, play and invest.

We already have a committed staff team of experienced community educators who deliver a responsive outreach programme and a varied and dynamic curriculum. We attract more than 2000 local adults every year back into learning that can help their employability, give them new skills and motivate them to progress on to higher qualifications.

Qualification achievement rates remain high and our Ofsted inspection (June 2017) confirmed the service was good in every area, stating

Managers and tutors are highly committed to making learning attractive to adults who are socially disadvantaged, long-term unemployed or have limited educational attainment. They are united in their mission to provide high-quality adult learning programmes to enable people to develop personally and vocationally, and to progress to further learning, volunteering and employment.”
