We have an exciting opportunity for three experienced Early Years Professionals to join the Early Years Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Team as a SEND Early Years Intervention officer.

This is a fixed term position until March 2025.  

The postholder will operate under the direction of the Early Years SEND Team Leader to ensure the Council’s statutory responsibilities for promoting high inclusive practice in Early Years settings and schools; ensuring effective SEND intervention and on-going support is available to children, families, and settings.

Working closely with the Early Years SEND Team Leader and the wider Early Years service the successful candidate will:

Support the Early Years SEND Team Leader to raise standards of achievement and improve the quality of teaching for children with SEND, through systematic monitoring and intervention, support and challenge Early Years settings providing education for children 0-5yrs.

As a SEND Early Years Intervention officer, you will;

  • To support Early Years Providers and SENCos in meeting the needs of individual child in their provision following and implementing the Graduated Approach.
  • Work in partnership with a range of Agencies and Parents to ensure Early Intervention is implemented and followed, supporting children with SEND and their families.

You will need to be a knowledgeable Level 3 Early Years Practitioner, who has had carried out the role of Special Educational Needs Coordinator.
