In Sefton the visitor economy is worth over £590m with over 9.2 million visitors a year, business tourism is a key contributor to Sefton’s visitor economy.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated sales person to grow business tourism in Sefton and make a real difference by contributing to the visitor economy and supporting the Southport flagship venue, Southport Theatre & Convention Centre.
The Tourism team already delivers business tourism, destination marketing, major events, tourism operations and visitor economy strategy, the role will be required to support and work across all areas.

About You
As the new Business Tourism Development Officer you will have experience in bidding for destination conferences and skilled in sales negotiation and account management. You will have a proven track record of success in a sales target driven environment.
You will be responsible for delivering the business conferences targets and identifying new revenue streams across the Tourism function by:
Attracting conferences and other tourism-related business through the promotion of the Borough as a visitor, tourist and conference venue.
Account Management of new and potential client base
Building and managing the sales pipeline
Researching, identifying and developing new business opportunities
Researching and maintaining industry competitor knowledge
Building a close working relationship with the flagship venue and local stakeholders
