Adult Social Care - (DoLS Team)
Sefton Council Adult Social Care department are looking to recruit 1 permanent Social Worker, to join the DoLS team. This is a unique opportunity for a Social Worker who would like to support ASC department in meeting our statutory responsibilities.
The role:-
To provide comprehensive person-centred assessments on people where applications have been submitted to the local authority to consider authorising a deprivation within hospital, care home or community settings. This will be in line with the DoLs Code of Practice. The focus will be on completing these assessments in a timely manner to support the increase in demand following the Cheshire West Judgement 2014.
Qualification and Experience
You must be a qualified and experienced Social Worker who has achieved the Best Interest Assessor (BIA) qualification as well as being experienced in care management and court of protection applications.
Assessors will carry out DoLS assessments to help decide whether a person should be deprived of their liberty, therefore assessors should have the necessary skills and experience to take account of people’s diverse backgrounds.
