The Merseyside Environmental Advisory Service (a shared service hosted by Sefton Council) is looking to appoint an archaeologist to provide development management advice in Merseyside. 

The post-holder’s primary tasks will include reviewing planning applications, advising on preferred courses of action and then monitoring archaeological mitigation for five Merseyside local authorities (Knowsley, Liverpool, Sefton, St. Helens and Wirral), an area with a rich historic environment that includes the Liverpool Maritime Mercantile City World Heritage Site. 

Applicants should have practical experience of providing planning advice, a good understanding of current planning legislation and policy, as well as be eligible for membership of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists.

Interviews will be held on Thursday 12th September.
