An opportunity has arisen for the right person to join the Democratic Services Team at Sefton Council, based in the Labour Group Office.

Candidates interested in applying for this post should be highly motivated with excellent communication skills and experience of working in a political environment would be an advantage, although the post-holder cannot be a member of any other party.

The Labour Group is the largest Political Group on the Council and support is required for all Labour Members of the Council, Cabinet Members and the Leader of the Council.

The post holder will be responsible for dealing with a range of Member casework issues, complex research, project management, co-ordination, event organisation, compilation of briefing reports and summaries and will be dealing with external stakeholders and senior officers of the Council.

Candidates should possess excellent IT skills, exhibit tact and diplomacy at all times, manage sensitive information and have a good understanding of governance within local authorities.
