An exciting opportunity has arisen for two individuals to join the team as an Early Years Inclusion Consultant. This is a fixed term position until March 25.
The postholder will operate under the direction of the Early Years SEND Team Leader to ensure the Council’s statutory responsibilities for promoting high inclusive practice in Early Years settings and schools; ensuring effective SEND intervention and on-going support is available to children, families, and settings.
Working closely with the Early Years SEND Team Leader and the wider Early Years service the successful candidate will:
Support the Early Years SEND Team Leader to raise standards of achievement and improve the quality of teaching for children with SEND, through systematic monitoring and intervention, support and challenge to schools and settings providing education for children 0-5yrs.
Support Early Years settings/schools to meet the individual needs of all children, but particularly those at risk of poor outcomes.
Promote and develop good inclusive practice in early years settings/schools including supporting multi-agency approaches in working with children with SEND.
Support schools and settings to work in partnership with parents and children.
Carry and maintain a caseload of individual children with SEND, providing assessment and advice around evidenced-based interventions through a cycle of Assess- Plan-Do-Review and producing written records of involvement.
You will work closely with schools supporting reception classes to ensure inclusive practice.
You will plan and deliver Early Years SEND training.
The postholder must be qualified to degree level and hold QTS, have in-depth knowledge and understanding of Early Years and SEND. Have recent experience of teaching in a reception class. With established and evidenced practice as an outstanding practitioner/SENCO in an, school, MAT or LA setting.
