Green Sefton manages our special coast, parks and greenspaces: from our beautiful and internationally recognised coastline which supports some of the rarest flora and fauna in the country, through to our historic parks and gardens, smaller greenspaces, allotments and our sport, play and recreation facilities. In total, we manage around 5,500ha of land. The service also manages both inland and coastal flood risk and the Council’s tree stock, both in the greenspaces and street trees. Green Sefton is a leading team in the Council Climate Emergency specialising in offsetting and adaption to extreme events.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for the right innovative person to help drive the service forward. You will be given the chance to develop and deliver projects and strategies to improve our infrastructure and service provision with a variety of capital and revenue-based improvements, through to exploring new ways of working including developing income streams. You will be essential in Green Sefton ensuring it sites are fit for the future.
This will not only ensure we continue to look after our public spaces effectively and support the Council’s 2030 vision, but we envisage that working in a more joined up way will encourage more community users, more involvement and volunteering across Sefton.
Sefton Council is a metropolitan borough on the North West coast of England. It is a varied borough with some of the most affluent and deprived communities in the country, and is known for its natural beauty, and green character. It is a great place to live, work and visit.
