The Occupational Therapy and Sensory team is based within Adult Social Care in Sefton Council and covers the whole borough of Sefton.
We are particularly looking for motivated staff keen to develop their skills and contribute to the development of the OT and sensory service.

The roles include completing functional and moving and handling assessments, prescribing equipment, minor and major adaptations via the Disabled Facilities Grant process
The Occupational and Sensory team have been at the forefront of developing new and innovative ways of working during the Covid 19 Pandemic, to allow assessments to be carried out remotely, keeping staff and service users as safe as possible.
This work has been recognized by RCOT and staff have recently taken part in a RCOT presentation to principal OT managers throughout the country.
Sefton has a commitment to Moving with Dignity/ Single Handed Care approach to care provision, working closely with formal and informal care providers. There has been significant investment in training and equipment purchase to support this way of working.
The Occupational Therapy team has 1.5 vacancies for permanent staff and an additional 2 new positions that are fixed term to 30th September 2022.
The successful candidates must hold a Diploma or Degree qualification in Occupational Therapy and be registered as an Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
