Commissioning Officer x 3 posts

(re-advertisement, previous applicants need not apply as they will be considered)

Fixed term to 30/04/2021

Due to developing our approach to Integrated Commissioning in Sefton alongside our health partners, we have an opportunity, on a fixed term basis, to recruit three people who will support the work of the Council’s Commissioning Team and the jointly agreed projects of the Integrated partnership. Principally the work will focus on services commissioned to support vulnerable people from an ‘all age’ perspective. Therefore, we are seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals to help us achieve our ambitions and those of our communities.  You will work within our corporate Strategic Support Service, which provides support across the whole Council, including: commissioning, policy and project support, procurement, business intelligence and communications.

The posts will work within the Commissioning Support area of the service and will need an excellent understanding of commissioning, a well-developed commissioning skill-set and experience in delivering commissioning outcomes to a range of vulnerable people or groups, including Adults and Children’s Social Care. The role will also provide you with the opportunity to further develop your skills and to support commissioning across a number of service areas. As it is crucial that we can begin to implement the outcomes required we will require candidates to be able to evidence their experience in these areas.

In Sefton, how we do things is important to us and so we welcome applications from people who demonstrate a commitment to proactive and outcome focused approaches, alongside the ability to work flexibly, adapt quickly and find solutions to a variety of challenges. In addition to the above, you will also have excellent communication skills, be able to work to deadlines on your own and as part of a team, and have knowledge, skills and experience in some or all of the following areas: commissioning for vulnerable people/groups, project management, procurement, multi-disciplinary team working, market management, social care systems and services and ensuring services offer a flexible and personalised approach.
