About Us:
In Sefton the visitor economy is worth over £590m wither over 9.2 million visitors a year, business tourism is a key contributor to Sefton’s visitor economy. We are looking for an exceptional leader to grow business tourism in Sefton to contribute the visitor economy and to support the Southport Theatre & Convention Centre.
The Tourism team already delivers business tourism, destination marketing, major events, tourism operations and visitor economy strategy, the role will be required to support and work across all areas.
About You
As the new Conference and Sales Manager you will deliver effective leadership and have the ambition to grow the team that will lead on:
- Attracting conferences and other tourism-related business through the promotion of the Borough as a visitor, tourist and conference venue.
- Creating and managing a sustainable Southport Conference Bureau
- Advertising, membership and sales for the department.
- You will need to have substantial experience of conference and sales and a understanding the visitor economy and partnership working that delivers outcomes.
