A suitably qualified and experienced Social Worker is required to join Sefton’s Adult Community Mental Health service. Applications are welcome from all qualified social workers but preference will be given to those who are eligible to practice as an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP).
Sefton’s Community Mental Health Teams are integrated mental health teams and social care staff work alongside clinical staff in order to provide a holistic service to our service users. The teams provide a comprehensive and dynamic service to adults between the ages of 16 and 64 who require support from secondary mental health services.
Social workers located within the team provide a service in line with the principles of the Care Act (2014), Mental Capacity Act (2005), Care Programme Approach (CPA) and Mental Health Act (1983). The role covers the full range of social work activities including safeguarding. Although the social work role in the team primarily focuses on social care related issues social workers also undertake a limited role as a care coordinator. Eligibility to practice as an AMHP or willingness to train is an essential part of the role.
