A suitably qualified and experienced Lead Practitioner is required to join Sefton’s Adult Community Mental Health service in North Sefton. Preference will be given to applicants who are qualified and practising Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHP) however applications are also invited from practitioners who are committed to training as an AMHP.

North Sefton’s Community Mental Health Team is an integrated mental health team where social care and clinical staff collaborate to provide a holistic service to adults between the ages of 16 and 64 who require support from secondary mental health services.

The purpose of this role is to support the Social Care Team Manager in the management, development and leadership of the social care service within the team. The successful candidate will possess a sound knowledge of mental health and relevant legislation, the Care Act and safeguarding, and preferably have experience of supervision of staff. The ability to make decisions around risk and risk management is essential to this post, including confidence to make complex case work decisions in the absence of the team manager.

The team operates within a supportive management environment and professional development is positively promoted through individual supervision and training opportunities.
