Introducing ourselves:

The Active Sports Team are responsible for delivering a portfolio of numerous Health, Sport and Physical activity programmes working with a wide range of partners and contributing to key council priorities including Health & Wellbeing, Most Vulnerable and Community Resourcefulness.

Job requirements:

Active Sefton are looking to recruit a highly motivated and dynamic individual to join their team on a part time job share basis.

The Development Officer will be responsible for the development and delivery of a comprehensive programme of sport and physical activity programmes linked to the priorities of Sefton Council (through Active Sefton) and identified project partners. These will specifically include targeted programmes such as 121 referral programmes working with young people in school and community settings to improve their mental and physical wellbeing, along with programmes around reducing antisocial behaviour in the local area.

The role will involve supporting colleagues within the team deliver our commissioned services around reducing anti-social behaviour, health interventions, Be Active holiday programme and Active Schools delivery (after school clubs and healthy habits workshops in schools), using sport and physical activity as a tool to engage people and deliver relevant projects.

NB: These posts are registered as exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and in accordance with the police act; any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced criminal record disclosure.
