The Transport Planning team, which embraces strategic transport planning, highways design and highways development control, plays a vital role in supporting the Councils regeneration ambitions. As such:
- You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Council’s ambitious Growth and Strategic Investment Programme and transformation of the borough’s transportation infrastructure in line with our emerging Low Carbon Transport Strategy and overarching regeneration and Net Zero ambitions.
- You will work on strategic transport policies, strategies and delivery plans that meet local, regional and national priorities.
- You will support the development, design and delivery of safe, accessible and sustainable transportation infrastructure.
- Your role includes involvement in exciting and rewarding projects aimed at supporting active travel, improving highway safety, accessibility and public realm.
- Your role will require good communication and engagement skills, effective data collection and analysis, support for mapping requirements, project/team administration tasks, managing databases, project co-ordination, necessary reporting and support for financial management and monitoring.
- You will collaborate with colleagues in other teams across the Council, including Regeneration, Housing and Planning, as well as collaborating with the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and other local, regional and national partners.
Your role
Sefton Council is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Support Officer, to assist the STPI team in the development and delivery of a wide range of transport policies, strategies and projects included in the Council’s Transport Capital Programme – to support the Council’s growth and investment ambitions.
The role will specifically involve support for managing projects delivered both via the Council’s Transport Technical Services Supplier and via Sefton’s confirmed major pipeline of projects to be delivered via the Transport for City Region’s funding allocation for the 2027-2032 period.
