The Atkinson in Southport is a leading arts centre housing a museum, galleries, library, cafe, shop, theatre and studio.
We are seeking to recruit an Operations Assistant to join the team. Operational support is critical to the day-to-day management of the Atkinson’s building and facilities, including delivery of all programmes and services.
The Atkinson’s programme features many events delivered during evenings and at weekends. The postholder will be required to work a proportion of their hours at these times, when it is necessary to meet the needs of the service.
Candidates will have experience of working in a public building with some responsibility for general maintenance, the management of contract services or other general duties. They will have experience in either a technical or practical field, such as engineering or electrical work.
The post-holder will be an effective team worker, with good inter-personal and communication skills. They will be comfortable when engaging with members of the public.
They will be committed to the positive promotion of culture and heritage so that The Atkinson maintains its status as a dynamic and evolving regional venue for arts, heritage, literature and information.
