The Community Cohesion & Cultural Learning Officer will promote wellbeing and social cohesion through opportunities for learning and cultural engagement.
Access to and participation in cultural life can make a big contribution to wellbeing and creating a sense of belonging and shared identity.
This role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to play a key part in bringing together communities and creative practitioners to explore and celebrate the rich culture of Sefton. Based at the Atkinson, Southport, you will play a leading role in bringing together community-based creatives of all ages to produce a rich programme cultural activities and events.
You will nurture effective partnerships across council services, community groups, creative practitioners and learning providers and encourage cultural engagement to foster greater community understanding, helping to build a more vibrant community.
Responsibilities will include areas of project management, supporting the delivery of high-quality, family-friendly cultural events and activities, which are accessible and enjoyed by a wide range of audiences.
Candidates will have experience of delivering successful creative learning and engagement programmes within a cultural context. This will include aspects of fundraising and support for the monitoring and evaluation of externally funded projects.
You will be highly motivated, a confident communicator with a passion for culture and learning. You will be able to think creatively and plan meticulously, working both autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team which is dedicated to building resilient and inclusive communities within Sefton.
This is a fixed-term post for 18 months, based at the Atkinson in Southport, and will work across Sefton as required.
