This is an exciting opportunity manage the development and delivery of a range of energy & environmental initiatives with a focus on managing utilities and driving savings as well as the facilitation of the Council’s response to the Climate emergency. You will play a key role within the Council’s Energy & Environmental Management Section and the wider Property Services division.
You will be managing three project officers, the contracts & data officer (currently vacant) as well as the team’s business administration assistant.
Your key areas of responsibility will include; the Council’s utility portfolio - to ensure accurate and timely billing, delivering projects to decarbonise, save energy & water; and support the delivery of the Council’s climate change commitments.
You will be expected to work with the Section manager to maintain and improve funding to continue and/or enhance current services and support staff to deliver effective services. You will need to be aware of all applicable legislation, strategies and policies.
You will need to have a flexible and positive approach to work, along with the necessary technical attributes. We require a strong commitment to customer care and the ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
New project development will also be required, so a positive and innovative approach to project development and delivery is important. In addition, the post requires a variety of skills and experience as set out in the job description and person specification.
