Sefton Council have a number of Temporary Seasonal Ranger posts available within Green Sefton’s Land Management Team, to assist with increased workload during the busy summer season on the coast.

Green Sefton provides our communities with a clean, green Borough including parks and greenspaces, nature reserves, trees, and woodlands, play and recreational facilities, municipal golf courses and our coast, beaches, and countryside, which include specially protected sites and landscapes, benefitting the health and wellbeing of residents, visitors, investors, and nature.  

The work involves a variety of duties including working outdoors, lifting and carrying, dealing with the public, using tools and equipment and handling monies where appropriate.

Applicants should ideally hold a full clean driving licence. 

All successful applicants will be assigned to a team/depot to report to at the start/finish of each day. Duties may vary in location and in accordance with business needs, e.g. working on different sites from time to time. Where this is the case, return travel will be provided from the depots each day. 

Green Sefton welcome applications from graduates and are open to shorter contracts during the summer season as posts dictate.

Ranger 1 Seasonal Coast Maintenance (13 posts)

GRADE B 36 hours per week, working pattern 7-day rota - split early and late shifts. 

Successful applicants will be required to undertake cleansing duties (including litter picking, regular emptying of litter/dog waste bins), manual sand removal duties and occasional grounds maintenance tasks. They will also be required to guide and advise the public and assist with the maintenance and presentation of sites using practical and communication skills. Various shift patterns available including early and late (8.30 – 8.30) to be outlined at interview. 

7 day rolling rota with 1 weekend off in 3. Some evening and Bank Holiday working is required.

 

Extended advert to run from December 2023 onwards.

Applicants will be sifted and interviewed in batches, and appointments made on a first come first served basis. A casual reserve list will be developed.

All posts are subject to probation.
