Sefton Council is seeking to recruit a Senior Data Analyst to join its Performance and Business Intelligence Team, to lead in data analysis and reporting for Children’s Social Care, providing timely and accurate data to inform strategic decision making, and indirectly help contribute to positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

We are looking for an experienced data analyst who can build data visualisations, perform in depth data analysis and answer questions on data for key stakeholders. You will be required to regularly analyse data from the Council’s Liquid Logic LCS system and other data sources, assist with statutory government returns, produce monthly performance reports and respond to ad-hoc requests for data, so previous experience of working with Children’s Social Care data is essential. Practical experience of using storing, manipulating, retrieving and querying data held in Azure Databases using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), and developing data visualisations using Microsoft Power BI, is also essential.

You will need to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build & nurture relationships across the business, then effectively advise and support senior officers, with the confidence to challenge where appropriate, based on evidence.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented person who is readily able to take responsibility for creating management information that helps drive strong performance.

A degree or equivalent in an analytical discipline such as Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience would be advantageous.

This is a great opportunity to develop your expertise, working on high profile priorities as part of a dynamic and supportive professional team.
