We are seeking a highly motivated Assistant Ecologist to join our growing Ecology team.

The Liverpool City Region has a wealth of Natura 2000 sites around our coasts and estuaries including the Dee, Mersey, Ribble, Alt, North Wirral and Sefton coasts and Liverpool Bay. We are striving to ensure that the very special wildlife thrives in a vibrant and progressive City Region economy.

Covering the districts of Halton, Knowsley, Liverpool, St.Helens, Sefton, West Lancashire and Wirral, this post is specifically targeted at individuals who are fairly early in their ecology / planning careers.  If you are working towards a professional membership that would also be helpful.

The Assistant Ecologist will provide essential support to the more experienced members of the ecology team under the supervision of one of our Principal Ecologists and will also provide support to our Local Environmental Record Centre at Court Hey Park.  The role will involve planning work, evidence gathering, data and GIS activities amongst other things.  The role therefore offers great opportunity for professional development and a clear career development path to more senior roles within the team once sufficient professional experienced has been gained.

As an employee of Sefton Council, you will enjoy the benefits of local government within an established City Region service. The Council are, where possible, operating a hybrid working model which will involve a combination of working from home and when required from a Council office site. Access to your own transport is required and the ability to work evenings and weekends is desirable.

Interviews anticipated to take place mid-July.
