Sefton Council
Children’s Social Care Service Managers
Salary up to £ 68,776.00
Our Vision 2030 is to be a confident and connected borough where children and young people enjoy early help, outstanding nurseries and schools, access to quality apprenticeships and vocational training, leading to highly skilled jobs and careers in the area.
We are investing £10m into the transformation of children’s services as we embark on an improvement journey that will be characterised not only by this significant investment, but also by pace, political support and investment in our workforce.
A new Executive Director Children’s Social Care and Education has just joined us to lead this transformation work. He is immediately looking to build his senior management team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new team providing vital front-door services to our most vulnerable children in a supportive and compassionate local authority. We have leadership vacancies across our Targeted Family Support & MASH, Assessment & Edge of Care, Locality and Residential and Supported Accommodation teams.
The successful candidate for all our Service Manager posts, with the exception of Residential and Supported Accommodation, must be qualified social workers and registered with SWE.
All candidates must have experience in managing staff in similar settings who have a track record of delivering high quality services to vulnerable children and young people and partnership working.
Sefton has the best of both worlds, from the vibrant city of Liverpool to the south, to miles of fantastic coastline and respected green spaces in the north. The borough is internationally recognised for its outstanding natural beauty and commitment to sustainability. Sefton communities look out for each other. We focus on our similarities and diversities but never on our differences, working together to live a fruitful life.

Equal Opportunities
Sefton Council strives to ensure that our workforce is inclusive and representative of our communities. A diverse workforce is important to us, our staff bring with them a wide range of experiences, views, ideas, and innovations, and we are committed to providing an environment that recognises, respects, and values everybody’s identity, where individual differences are strengths and where everyone can thrive and maximise their potential. We are always open to learning and growing as an organisation, and we welcome new ideas and initiatives that promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
We are an Equal Opportunities Employer; all candidates will receive equal treatment. Our decision to appoint will be based upon whether an individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, and abilities make them the most suitable candidate for the role.
GUARANTEED INTERVIEW SCHEME
Please note that all disabled applicants who meet the essential criteria for these jobs (as given in the Person Specification) and who want to apply under the Disability Confident Scheme will be invited to interview.
