Commissioning Officer

Full time – Fixed term to 31/3/22.

The Commissioning Support Team have an exciting opportunity available, on a fixed term basis, for a Commissioning Officer to support a range of key projects. These projects will have a focus on an all age approach, however will primarily be supporting Adult Social Care commissioning. Therefore, we are seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals to help us achieve our ambitions and those of our communities.

The post will work within the Commissioning Support Team, which sits within the Strategic Support service area and will need an excellent understanding of commissioning, a well-developed commissioning skill-set and experience in delivering commissioning outcomes to a range of vulnerable people or groups, including Adults and Children’s Social Care. The role will also provide you with the opportunity to further develop your skills and contribute to the key outcomes for our communities as part of an integrated approach with health partners and so experience of working in an integrated way would be beneficial.

In addition to the above, you will also have excellent communication skills, be able to work to deadlines on your own and as part of a team, and have knowledge, skills and experience in some or all of the following areas: commissioning for vulnerable people/groups, project management, procurement, multi-disciplinary team working, market management, social care systems and services and ensuring services offer a flexible and personalised approach.   

Currently the Commissioning Support Team are working predominantly from home, however the base for the role is in Bootle
