Lead Coach (Watersports & Adventurous Activities)

We are looking for an enthusiastic coach who has the passion and skill to develop a team of instructors. Working within the unique setting of Crosby Lakeside Adventure Centre the Lead Coach position is more than merely supervising coaches, this position allows for the post holder to play a pivotal role in the development and delivery of activities within this varied and cultured activities centre.
You must be an excellent communicator and possess the interpersonal skills required to liaise with clients from across the region. You must be able to lead, manage and motivate a team of instructors to deliver all aspects of the centre’s activity programmes. We are looking for an experienced coach in possession of RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor certificate plus hold or work towards paddlesport coach award in Kayak & Canoe. In addition, at least one of the following qualifications, Climbing, Windsurf, PWC or Powerboat Instructors certificates within this role you will be responsible for adopting a mentoring style approach to aide in the development of our instructor team.
In addition to overseeing activities and coach development at times you will also be undertaking a general building supervisory role, part of the role allows for experience to be gained within the leisure management industry as you will be ensuring the smooth day to day operation of all areas within the building.
Our staff are very important to us and as part of the team you will receive opportunities to develop your personal and coaching skills in a variety of watersports & adventurous activities. In addition to supervising activities you will also be expected to take on the role of Duty Manager on an ad hoc basis, hospitality supervisory experience is preferable however full training will be provided.
Due to the nature of the work, this post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful candidate must be able to obtain a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure (via the Disclosure & Barring Service DBS) in order to be appointed to the post.
